10/17/23: Out of over 12,000 submissions, I am a semi-finalist (top 40) at Austin Film Festival for my dramatic pilot! AFF is seen as the “writer’s festival” with one of the most competitive competitions. It’s an honor to be included amongst so many talented writers.

9/28/23: I made it to the finals of The Black List/WIF Feature Lab for my dramatic script, “Find Your Light”. It’s an incredibly prestigious program and I couldn’t be more proud to have made it to the top 15 out of thousands of applicants. 

7/20/23: OUTLIaRS (a pilot I wrote, directed, and acted in) will be having its LA debut at the Academy Award-Qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival at TCL Chinese Theatres! Some of the talent involved this year include Ricky Gervais, Tom Holland, Cate Blanchette, Alfonso Cuaron, Matt Damon, Belle Thorne, Keke Palmer, Ben Affleck, and Tom Hanks! HollyShorts is arguably the most prestigious festivals in LA and I couldn’t be more thrilled for my team! We did this whole 30-minute pilot for just a little over $5k and we are competing with pilots in the six-figure range. This project truly was the little engine that could.

7/17/23: LITTLE CUTS is nominated for Best Horror/Thriller, Best Writing, and Best Actress (for myself and Elise Greene) at Micheaux Film Festival!

4/25/23: LITTLE CUTS just scored nominations for BEST SHORT, BEST DIRECTOR, and BEST ACTRESS at the Jim Thorpe Independent Film Festival! It was such an honor to be in a prestigious lineup of films that featured some of my favorite projects from Sundance and Southby. Thank you JTIFF!

4/1/23: I am excited to announce that I am officially repped by Fourth Wall Management! 3/22/23: My pilot script just won FIRST PLACE at the UPIKE writing competition out of hundreds of submissions. A reading of my script will be held at the Appalachia Center for the Arts with professional actors that live in the region. Delighted that the script that I wrote as an ode to Kentucky will be read by true Kentuckians.

3/2/23: I had the immense honor of teaching my first class at my alma mater, Rhodes College today. Thank you to the Rhodes Film Department for having me!

10/25/22: "I Miss Us" just won the AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD at Santa Fe International Film Festival (SFiFF)!!!

10/15/22: My short film, LITTLE CUTS made its east coast premiere at Chelsea Film Festival (Rated #6 in USA Today's Best Film Festivals in the country). Judges include Academy Award Winner John Patrick Shanley, Academy Award-Nominated Sofia Bild, and Emmy-Nominated Amy Kaufman.

10/14/22: I was nominated for BEST LEAD ACTOR (male or female) and OUTLI(a)RS was nominated for BEST SERIES at SoHo Intl Film Festival in NYC!

10/1/22: My thriller pilot script is a FINALIST for BEST DRAMATIC PILOT in HBO's Catalyst TV Content Competition!

9/28/22: My pilot, OUTLI(a)RS, is premiering at Catalyst Film Festival (Formerly ITV Fest). Catalyst is an official mentorship partner of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (the Emmys) and is sponsored by HBO, Sony, Fox, and SyFy Network among others!

9/1/22: Film Threat Magazine gave LITTLE CUTS an 8/10! "'Little Cuts' is a simple and insightful story of a toxic friendship. The story is solid and performed beautifully by writer/director Maia Henkin." You can read our review here. 

8/31/22: The film I wrote and directed, LITTLE CUTS, will be showing at the Hollywood Reel Independent Festival (HRIFF) today at Regal LA Live/Staples Center. Academy Award-winning films that have screened at HRIFF include MANCHESTER BY THE SEA and THE ACT OF KILLING, among others.
